Our Beginner Agility Class is for dogs and handlers who are new to the world of agility. It’s a six week course. Each class session is  one hour long.

Prerequisite:  All dog must have earned a Canine Good citizen title, 7 months of age, healthy weight and have no health problems in order to enroll.

Our Beginner classes uses positive, motivational method that’s a natural for this sport. We focus on safety and enjoyment, allowing each dog to move at his own pace, gaining confidence as he becomes familiar with each new obstacle. Dogs begin to learn the names of each obstacle (“tunnel,” for example, to race through the tunnel; “jump” to leap over a jump), as well as “left” and “right” to give directions to the next obstacle. For beginners to the sport, or seasoned competitors, this course forms a solid foundation for all dogs.

The goals of Pre-Agility is  to safely introduce dog and their handlers  to the skills necessary to enjoy agility.  This class will not only improve your handling skills but will improve your dog’s balance, flexibility. strength and confidence.

We introduce agility obstacles to you and your dog in safe enjoyable, relaxed and fun environment and allow each dog to move at his own pace, gaining confidence as he becomes familiar with each new obstacle.

Dogs begins to learn the name of each new obstacle. For beginners to sport this class forms a solid foundation for all dogs.

Beginning Agility will provide you and you dog with an introduction to the agility obstacles and important foundation skills with safety, fun and competitive excellence in mind. This class is intended for those new to agility, as well as for those who have already begun agility training elsewhere, but would like to improve their foundation skills.

We will work on a perfect start line wait, teach directions, learn how to use your body language to guide your dog around the obstacles and we will also have lots of fun! Agility should not be undertaken by dogs under 12 months of age due to their bone development but the foundation exercises are suitable for younger dogs and we will take them from 7 – 8 months providing there is a good solid bond with the owner.
