Public Manners Class is the perfect solution to socializing your companion.

Welcome to our Newly Redesigned Public Manners Class! I went back to the drawing board to create a more dynamic, creative, & comprehensive training class! I am excited to offer a stronger version of training. I’ve also added two new locations as well as a back plan inside for inclement weather.

Public Manners is a seven-week curriculum that meets at various locations weekly so we can work around countless distractions. This class is designed to offer great opportunities for you to put your dog in “real-world” situations while remaining in a semi- controlled environment, allowing you to train your dog and establish the relationship and leadership you’ll need with your dog when you go out in public.

We start with low key environment with few distractions to begin the process. Each week new exercises are added on at a specific pace and at specific location. Together we will train your dog at various locations for real life effect.

Public Manners focuses on skills such as safe & appropriates socialization, leash training, basic cues, mat work (that will improve your dog’s focus & attention span) Your companion will learn to walk through crowds, meet & greet politely, settle down at restaurants, coffee shops etc. We set up an obstacle course during one training session to further strengthen effective communication as well as promote teamwork between your dog and you.

Who Should Take our Public Manners Class

Like most adolescent teens, dogs between the ages of 6 to 24 months are experiencing hormonal and physiological changes that can cause different behaviors to arise. During this developmental stage, your dog is likely to test certain rules and boundaries, experience an increase in energy at odd times, and have difficulty regulating their emotions.

By now, your dog’s critical socialization period has ended; however, it is not too late to socialize to new things & create positive associations. Think of it as learning a new language. The younger you are, the easier it is to learn. It is still possible to learn a new language at any age. During this course, we’ll help you manage any new or existing behaviors that you are having difficulty with and teach new, alternative and more appropriate behaviors.

During our group training, your dog will have the opportunity to practice behaviors that have practical use in your everyday life, while improving their reaction to common triggers.

This class teaches basic manners to help you and your dog in and out of the home and perfect for dogs who struggle around distractions, especially other people and dogs in public.

Public Manners will help your dog develop skills to behave politely in the wider human world. You and your dog will continue to work on skills taught in Basic Training, including commands like “sit,” ” wait”, “down,” “come,” “stay”.

Additionally, your dog will learn to look at you when faced with distractions, and to walk by other people & dogs while on leash. This class can be repeated to further develop your dog’s skills.

This course introduces the essentials for teaching your dog basic appropriate manners in real life which will replace unwanted behaviors such as jumping, pulling, lunging, barking etc. Your dog will learn to stop pulling on a leash, sit, wait, and leave it. You’ll learn management skills for when you’re in sticky situations with your dog.

This class is designed for students who are looking to learn how to apply the skills they’ve learned in a previous class to real world scenarios. We visit to various local dog friendly location to put those skills to the test and learn how to set our dogs up for success in the situations that real life throws at us.

Public Manners class is an option for dogs who have no previous training. We work with you on establishing the basics. This course introduces the essentials for teaching your dog proper etiquette which will replace unwanted behaviors such as pulling on the leash, lunging & jumping.

Please Note: This class is not for shy, fearful dogs. If your dog experiences fear around people, dogs or noise please visit our Fearful Fido Class page.

Remember: Training is a life-long endeavor! It isn’t something you do
TO your dog, it is something you and your dog do together.

The same goes for socialization.

Your dog will learn how to behave like a champ at home, the park, at the lake, on vacation or just cruising around town with you. Take your dog to the next level of raining and let him shine.

You will enjoy being the proud parent of such an extraordinary well behaved canine. Everyone will be amazed at how well your best friend listens to you.
