Welcome to Rally Obedience
Looking for a fun way to build more focus with your dog? Whether you’re preparing to take a Canine Good Citizen test, Therapy Test or venturing into the world of dog sports, Rally Obedience helps you build a great foundation with your dog and can help you in many other teamwork events. This dog sport requires teamwork between dog and handler along with performance skills similar to obedience. Rally provides an excellent introduction to sports for new dogs and handlers as well as can providing a challenging opportunity to strengthen skills.
Rally Obedience classes refine your dog’s basic manners. and have real life. We use positive training techniques in a fun and supportive environment.
What is Rally?
Rally is a fun and exciting sport for you and your dog. You and your dog work together as a team to navigate through a course of signs including commands such as sit-stand-sit, call front-finish left, figure 8, serpentine weave twice, send over jump, 360 right turns, left pivot, etc. You are encouraged to talk to your dog while navigating thru the course and having fun together!
Prerequisite:
Dogs must be Behaviorally Healthy and not have aggression issues with other dogs.
Dogs must be at least 6 months of age at the start of class.
Required completion of Basic Obedience or Public Manners Class
All dogs must have Rabies and DHPP vaccinations or titers.
Class size is limited!
Class Schedule: Wednesday, September 6 (7 pm – 8pm)
Cost: 7 week/ one hour session $235.00 – First class is orientation without the dog.

Rally Obedience is a FUN and exciting team sport for all dogs (pure bred and mixed breeds, any age dog) and their handlers utilizing basic to advanced obedience skills! Dogs and handlers navigate a course of 10-20 numbered obedience exercises such as Sit-Down-Sit, Straight Figure Eight, Spiral Right with Dog on the Inside, Sidestep Right, Halt-Down-Walk around Dog, etc.
Does your dog LOVE obedience? Is he attentive? Do you like teaching your dog different obedience moves? Do you like fast paced activities? Rally-O may be your new favorite class! Strategy is also a big part of this training so be ready for mental stimulation!
We will work on Novice – Excellent Rally-O exercises. Play games and add some fun agility to make this class fun and mentally stimulating for your furry friend. We will work on Distractions that may be encountered during the sport, go over Rules and Regulations for safety during the class.
Rally Obedience the new dog sport that is taking the nation by storm, a successful stepping stone from the AKC Canine Good Citizen program to the world of obedience or agility. Rally offers both the dogs and handlers an experience that is fun and energizing. Each handler and their dog move at their own pace. Rally was designed with the traditional pet owner in mind, but it can still be very challenging for those who enjoy higher levels of training. Rally Obedience is a fun team sport that enhances the practical, real-life obedience skills your dog already has – taking his training to the next level This is a non-competition class. Dogs and handlers move at their own pace through sets of stations, with dogs performing assigned obedience tasks. Rally is a great steppingstone to the more stringent criteria of Obedience commands and the advanced athleticism of Agility!
In Rally Obedience Class, dogs are taken through the course on a loose leash. Rally is a terrific team sport as the focus is truly on the teamwork between the handler and the dog. If you and your dog have graduated a Basic Obedience Course then you are ready to step into the world of Rally-O!!
So if you’ve completed an obedience class or two, but your dog still needs some help learning how to behave/perform around distractions (like other dogs, strangers, etc). Or maybe you and your dog just want to continue to enjoy working together in a class environment. Well, then Rally Obedience may be for YOU!
Rally Obedience is a wonderful sport for dogs and handlers who experience ” ring stress”, or for what ever reason would not be in traditional obedience. This novice level is all on the leash, you are allowed to use multiple hand and verbal cues, and you can talk to and encourage your dog throughout the performance, This makes it a great place to work through both of your ring nerves and have some success in the ring.
The course is set by the trainer. There is no pause between exercises – you and your dog work briskly through the course and have fun performing Agility. You are encouraged to talk to and praise your dog during the performance. Any dog can get involved; your dog does not have to be a pedigree dog to take part.

- The fundamentals of Rally Obedience, focusing on getting your dog to consistently follow instructions in a structured setting.
- The art of “coaching” your dog and working together as a team so you can learn to teach her increasingly advanced obedience skills.
