Cost: $245 for the entire 7-week session.
The first class is orientation. This prerequisite session will provide the information necessary to prepare you & your companion for training.
Basic obedience classes provide a solid foundation that will enhance the relationship between you and your dog. Training your dog properly opens up an effective communication line. It is one of the best ways to build a healthier stronger relationship with your companion. More important you will learn how your dog perceives his world as well as how he/she learns while utilizing positive reinforcement skills to make learning rewarding, fun, successful, and easy as possible. Your dog will learn how to live in a home environment successfully.
Classes focuses on handling skills, leash training and impulse control. An introduction to basic commands such as” watch me”, sit, wait, down, stay, release, come when called, leave it, door manners, proper meet -n- greet, safety as well as other important topics on behavior. Our emphasis is not only training commands and cues but using them in the context of everyday scenarios.
We address important behavior issues such as jumping, barking, lunging, pulling on the leash, chewing, mouthing & much more. You will learn how to set up appropriate structure & boundaries at home to reinforce good behavior as well as the importance of fulfilling your dog’s physical, social and psychological needs.
Weekly Classes are progressive as not to overwhelm you or your canine. Each week you will receive detailed step by step handwritten homework for take home practice with your pup.
Basic obedience training makes life simple to your dog and eliminates confusion. Basic Obedience is a term most people understand & associate with training- While I use this term in general, I prefer to call it Life skill training which involves cooperation, collaboration, teamwork and assistance. Training is more about promoting confidence and self-control in our dogs while gaining the cooperation we want without the need to dominate or intimidate.
